It has beautiful patina. The black bakelite handle is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips. The silver plated steel pommel, grip and crossguard are nicely toned. The brass eagle on the handle is nicely toned and a good fit to the handle. The lower fitting above the crossguard has lost its silver finish, but the steel has toned to a nice charcoal gray.
